Christmas for Minted

I recently entered some designs in the Minted Holiday Design Challenge. Winners can win $$ and are voted by you! AND this year, they've got some pretty amazing judges for special awards: Jenna Lyons, the President and Executive Creative Director of J.Crew, Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan, CEO of Apartment Therapy, Kristin Von Ogtrop, the Editor-in-Chief of Real Simple magazineKelley Lilien of blog Mrs. Lilien. As an extra extra bonus, Jenna Lyons will be featuring and her favorite design in the November J. Crew catalog under "Jenna's Picks." That would be beyond surreal. But a girl can dream. Check out my collection for Minted here & vote if you like! :)

Sunday Suppers in TradHome

How gorgeous is this shot?

Sunday Suppers was asked to be a guest blogger for the latest issue of TradHome. Shot by the amazing Karen Mordechai, styled by my talented friend Lizzy Sall and Karen, and cooked up by chef Cammille Beccerra. They always put together some pretty amazing dishes & this high tea spread does not disappoint. Well done, ladies!

design*sponge NSS Coverage

Going into the National Stationery Show with your biggest wall featuring a product in a completely new medium (digitally printed watercolor) was a little scary. Are people going to like this as much as I do? Will they like/understand the big size? Is the focus on lettering & color variations too simple?

I felt better after Day One when the response was good, but seeing Grace's post on it this morning was the best gold star I could get. See her full post here, including her shout out to my business cards for best at the show. In a sea full of paper, to me, that's the best compliment you can get.

Thanks so much to Grace & Amy for coming by!

From the Desk Fridays: TeuxDeux

Do you guys know of TeuxDeux? It's the prettiest, simplest online to do list. While you know I love my notepads & will always be a paper note-taker, TeuxDeux is amazing for staying organized - especially when you sit in front of a computer a lot like I do.

One thing I'll be adding to my teux deux list for the weekend is to get a pedicure - one of my favorite post-NSS treats:)

Have a great weekend!

NSS: The End

Now that NSS is over, we all get to rest. Well, rest a little, then start fulfilling orders. We'll be in some great new shops, so stay tuned for those announcements as we get things shipped out. The notepads will be available online June 1. The 2012 Letterpress and Watercolor Calendars will go up in July.

NSS: The Booth

Just a few shots from the booth. We have reused the same stuff (foamcore boards, the material pinned to the boards, door-as-table, dining room chairs, bedroom rug) for the past four years and yet it still looked fresh this year. We had so many compliments on our set up & I can't take any credit. It was all my talented friend Lizzy. (Lucky RISD gets her for the next two years. Sniff, sniff.)

Today is the last day and is only three hours, which means no one comes, which means we get to buzz around visiting each others' booths. I hate the price tag of the show, the "awards" they call "awards," and I certainly never look forward to moving stuff in & out, but I really do love talking to and meeting with fellow stationers, designers, buyers and editors. Cut out the crap, and it's really pretty fun.

Mother's Day Love

Mother's Day might have been made up for companies to take advantage of you - but as the recipient of my first Mother's Day pampering, I say, bring it on!

Griffin really set the bar high for future Mother's Days. He sat patiently in his booster seat while Mommy & Daddy had pancakes. He gave me his first piece of artwork & then surprised me with some seriously gorgeous flowers. It was such a wonderful (and beautiful) day. Thank you, Griff. And John:)

Now back to work & NSS prep. I'll share some more first looks this week!

Mother's Day & Paperless Post

Sunday is my first Mother's Day as a mom. It's been 13 years since my mom passed away & the holiday always makes me miss her more than usual. This year, I'm looking forward to focusing the day on Griffin & how he makes my heart light, while being exceedingly grateful for the time with my mom & the example she set for me.

Happy Mother's Day to you moms out there. Best & hardest job there is.

psst - Also, I did some Mother's Day cards for Paperless Post. Check them out here.

From the Desk Fridays: Another NSS Peek

We're bringing back an oldie but a goodie, exclusively for this year's National Stationery Show. And I loooooove them. Above is a peek at two of the six we're debuting. Can you guess? Excited to show you more next week!

Have a great weekend!

Eating My Veggies. Wearing a Sweater.

Remember those bibs I told you we were spoiling every hour? Well, I bought this long sleeved one (no, that's not actually a sweater!) and it's huge. Unlike the sun hat that I thought was one size fits all, this long sleeved bib is one size fits all because it can fit your three year old. So, we've gone back to the normal neck bib. But before we did, Griff was sporting the no-neck sweater bib & looking pretty darn cute if I do say so myself.

ps - Griffin is making his first stationery event appearance at the National Stationery Show in a couple weeks! Stay tuned for pics of him hamming it up in our booth.
