Office Rehaul: Request for Inspiration

We've gone from looking at office space 8 months ago, to being in contract, to now staying put. We don't know what 2009 holds for us, which makes me a little nervous, and we're not certain an increase in rent and investment in new equipment is the right move for us right now. All I want to do is think bigger and better, but I have to get a little real here and realize that there are things we can do to improve, strengthen and build upon before we take a bigger step towards bigger bills.

So - we're redoing our office this week. Well, moving it around a little is more like it:) And trying to get creative with our quirky brownstone parlour floor. I was looking through my old Blueprint Magazines (so sad that mag is gone) and found a few things - but I'd love to see more. If you have of any great photos or links or have any organizational tips - we'd love to hear them!

Wow...where to start?! Are you looking to paint and sort of re-decorate? Or is it just more of a re-position existing items? Either way, you can't go wrong with these: http://www1.fredflare.com/customer/product.php?productid=1664&cat=312

And I like the idea of chalkboard paint, although it's sort of been done to death on TV shows and in magazines.

In the latest Domino, the Adventuress touts a labelmaker (like P-touch) as a quick and fun way to bring order to life.

I try to keep a handle on things as they come in the house--junk mail is (usually) immediately shredded and put in the recycle bin, for example. And I would not discount the idea of an accordion file to stash reciepts or bills or whatnot for each day of a month.

Oh--and you can't go wrong with a cheap frame from IKEA and a sheet of awesome paper from here: http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/paper/ps-designs.html

Hopefully these ideas have helped a little bit. Please post and let us know what you come up with. Before and after pics would be ideal. :)

Sidenote: I was obsessed with Blueprint and probably cried a tear or three when it folded. *long sigh*
